Dear Albion players,
As announced
here, we will be increasing the price for premium time on January 29 at 10:00 UTC.
Price increases are always a difficult topic. We would like to give you our reasons for the price change:
Prices for the premium status were originally set in 2015. In the years that have passed since then, general business expenses have increased a lot. More importantly, Albion Online is now a much more polished a feature-rich game than what it was back then or even when it was first released in 2017. We have come a long way since then and are continuing to expand and improve the game with full force and are consistently bringing more people on board to help us with that.
We want to make sure that this growth is well-funded. Our business model is based on the premium status and vanity items and we will keep it that way. Adding any “pay to win” elements to our shop is a big no go for us. Hence, rather than reinventing the wheel, we have decided that adjusting the price of the premium status is the right way to go about this.
However, we did not want to go overboard either. When determining the new prices for the premium status, we did a survey of the MMORPG market to make sure that new prices are still lower than those of most other MMORPGs. We believe that the new prices a fair and a good representation of what the game has to offer.
To keep things fair, we have made sure that existing recurring subscriptions and new ones that are made before January 29, 10:00 UTC will stay on the old, lower prices when they auto renew. Please note that you cannot currently have a recurring Albion Online subscription on Steam, so if you want to benefit from the old prices you will have to follow our guide to set up a recurring subscription via our website.
Thank you for your continued support!
