As we are committed to keeping you in the loop about performance improvements, it's time that we post another update. In our last update
, we mainly talked about server-side improvements. Today, it's all about the client.
The biggest improvement today are optimized overhead text messages (damage numbers, etc.). This should lead to significantly improved performance, particularly in large fights. Additionally, we have implemented several minor tweaks with the character nametags which should improve their performance, as well as a fix for off-screen name tags that will hopefully bring a stop to issues after longer running times. We're keeping an eye on this particular issue though.
This will all go live today with Patch #5 (or: the Mid-Season Patch) today at 10:00 UTC.
We have another optimization in the pipeline that we hope to deploy sometime later today or tomorrow. This will significantly reduce load on the world map, especially on Android devices. This will work independently from a server downtime and will automatically be installed on the first client start after deployment.
Of course, this is not the end of the road of optimizations, and you can expect us to keep improving the performance of both client and server over the coming weeks.
