Dear players,
We have just deployed a hotfix to the server after we had been made aware of a potential gameplay exploit with regards to Scrolls of Repair.
Every time a player is knocked down or killed, a certain percentage of that players item value drops as silver. The amount dropped is significantly lower than the repair cost of the gear.
However, as Scrolls of Repair fix a players gear without any extra cost, a player could in theory generate added value by repeatedly getting knocked down on purpose. We calculated that using this method, with some coordination, time investment and some very rare highest end gear, it would be possible to extract a silver value of up to ~300k per scroll, whereas the market price for these scrolls right now is around ~50k.This use of the scroll of repair was never intended by us.
We have discovered that one player has been using this trick recently. We investigated that player, and while the mechanic in itself is not considered to be an exploit, the player in question also engaged in multi-accounting while using this trick and was banned.
We have no indication that other players have used this trick, which is also reflected by the fact that Scrolls of Repair still trade so cheaply in the markets.
As a precaution, to make sure that the trick is not used over the weekend, we have decided to temporarily disable the silver dropped by players when knocked down from mobs or yellow zone PvP.
The hotfix was deployed at 18:30 UTC. A proper long-term fix will be developed by us in the course of the next week.
Sincere apologies for the inconvenience,
Robin 'Eltharyon' Henkys
